FLATLINE by Laélia
Flatline is a romantic upbeat song confessing frustrations of past love and the dilemma of trying to find yourself in someone else. The driving synth bass and strong drum pattern are a clear nod to 80s synth-wave and electro pop, which lend their force to this dark and energetic anthem. Laélia is a Brazilian born/London resident prolific songwriter and professional top liner. Flatline is the 1st release (of 3 songs) in her "Goddess" audio visual female and LGBTQ+ empowerment project.
Powerful and mysterious. Dark and fun. Melancholic and mischievous. Combinations that usually aren’t meant to be perfectly describe Laélia.
Born next to the sea, but grown out of the ground, this creature moves fluid like water but vocalises strong as land. An incredible sight of colour, anger and sensuality.
Originally from Brazil and currently based in London, singer/songwriter/performer/director Laélia beams synths from the 80s and 90s. Casts hints of Madonna, Cyndi Lauper, Kate Bush and Gwen Stefani. But the undefinable sounds you find in her songs are what make her feel like the soundtrack of tomorrow.
