She comes from the ground
She hails from the sea
She sees through the darkness
What’s hidden underneath
What are you made of?
What are you afraid of?
Powerful and mysterious. Dark and fun. Melancholic and mischievous. Combinations that usually aren’t meant to be perfectly describe Laélia.
Born next to the sea, but grown out of the ground, this creature moves fluid like water but vocalises strong as land. An incredible sight of colour, anger and sensuality.
She beams synths from the 80s and 90s. Casts hints of Madonna, Cyndi Lauper, Kate Bush and Gwen Stefani. But there are undefinable sounds that she sings that sound like tomorrow.
Once she takes a stage it is her’s and no one else can reach it.
What the media HaS to say:
"The moment I heard Laélia’s powerful opening to ‘Run This Town’ I knew we had to use it as the title track for Dani’s Bucket List. Laélia has the presence and power of a vocal rocket ship. There was never a doubt that ‘Run This Town’ was the perfect fit as the title track for Dani’s Bucket List. Laélia is powerful, sexy, fun, and one hell of a performer!” -Simon King, Director, Dani’s Bucket List (September 2016)
"It's not every day that you come across an unsigned artist that invests so much in their performance. With custom made outfits for the entire band, supporting dancers, beautiful choreography, fascinating video art and an entire set of original, pop-rocky music- Laélia mastered the stage of this popular Brick Lane venue." - Gili Dailes, Blogger (June,2016)
"Laélia has created an itchy, punk-pop slice of fun and should get any club bouncing from the walls but you'd be making a serious error if you sat down to consider the deeper meanings of this song." - Roland Monger, Listen With The Monger (March 07, 2015)
"Laélia has a very refreshing sound and image!" - Dene Michael, Minster FM
"Laélia is definitely bringing something new to the music table that will leave you piqued with intrigue." - Phoenix Music Online (April 28, 2015)
"It packs a punch and is full of attitude, have to say it’s grabbed me!" - Chris Straw, Bauer Media
"Very lovely and cool, Laélia's look almost resembles Neon Hitch, but in a more urban way. Her vocals are way more advanced though." - Original Tune
"Her off the cuff performance will undoubtedly be a highlight of the year and put us all in the Xmas spirit." - Jar Music Live, O2 Academy
